It is also an Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate, which allows you to attach your lens to a compatible quick-release clamp. It features a double dovetail milled into each side of the plate, which provides extra flexibility when attaching Arca-Swiss style quick-release accessories such as Wimberley Modular Flash Brackets. Using this plate decreases the overall height of your lens so that it will handle better on a conventional tripod head (such as a ball head) and will achieve proper balance when used with a side-mount gimbal style head. It is the stiffest Nikon replacement foot on the market, providing less flex and greater stability than others offered today, helping to create a greater number of sharper images.  Wimberley replacement feet are compatible with Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamps such as those made by Wimberley, Kirk Enterprises, Really Right Stuff, Markins, LL Rue, Foba, Graf, Arca-Swiss and others.
These custom low-profile replacement feet replace the factory foot on the rotation collar of your lens and also serve as the Arca-Swiss style quick-release plate for your lens. No additional quick-release plate is needed.  It makes your lens handle better on a conventional tripod head, such as a ball head, and also makes it easier to pack.
Using our replacement foot on your large lens decreases the overall height of the lens, lowering the center of gravity so that it achieves proper balance when used on a gimbal head such as the Wimberley Head or the Sidekick. Our replacement feet are specifically designed to allow for optimal gimbal head performance and may be required when using specific lenses on our Sidekick.
The replacement feet are millled to slide right into an Arca-Swiss style quick-release clamp, and also have 1/4" and 3/8" tapped
holes for mounting to non-quick-release tripod heads and monopods. They have the same dual safety stops and flash bracket compatibility as our lens plates.
All tools needed to replace your existing lens foot are included.
